Consolidated profit before tax grew 149% year on year to Rs 5036.8 crore in Q4 FY22 from Rs 2021.1 crore posted in the corresponding quarter last year. Consolidated EBITDA stood at Rs 15,998 crore in Q4 FY22, rising 27% year on year. EBITDA margins improved 192 basis points year on year to 50.8% in Q4 FY22.
The telecom player's India revenue grew by 22.7% year on year to Rs 22,500 crore in Q4 FY22. Average revenue per user (ARPU) grew by 22.7% year on year to Rs 178 as compared to Rs 145 in Q4 FY21. Mobile revenues grew by 25.1% year on year on account of increase in ARPU led by healthy flow through of tariff revision and strong 4G customer additions during the year. The company said it added 21.5 million 4G customers to its network over last year, an increase by 12.0% YoY. The company's customer base in India stood at nearly 360 million, rising 1.1% sequentially and 2.7% year on year.
Airtel's Homes business segment continued its strong momentum with revenue growth of 45.8% year on year and customer net additions of 323,000 during the quarter to reach to a total base of 4.5 million. The company said its Digital TV continued to hold its leadership position with 17.6 million customer base at the end of quarter.
Revenue (in constant currency) from Africa business was up by 19.1%year on year. EBITDA margins came at 49.6%, rising 187 basis points year on year. Customer base stands at 128 million at the end of March 2022.

Our consolidated revenues for the quarter grew by 5.5% and EBITDA margins expanded to 50.8%, underscoring our focus on all round delivery. The mobile business revenues were up 9.5% as we saw the full flow through of tariff increase. Airtel continues to have the highest ARPU at Rs 178. Our Homes and enterprise business continue to exhibit very strong growth momentum, reflecting the resilience of our overall portfolio. Our strong balance sheet and cash flows have enabled us to further repay some of our spectrum liabilities ahead of schedule and improve our leverage. We continue to remain optimistic about the opportunities in the coming years and believe we are well poised as a company.”
On a full year basis, Airtel reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 4,255 crore in financial year ended 2022 as compared to a net loss of Rs 15,084 crore posted in financial year ended 2021. Total revenue increased by 15.8% year on year to Rs 116,547 crore in FY22 over FY21.
The net debt-EBITDA ratio (annualized) including the impact of leases as on 31 March 2022 came at 2.51 times as compared to 2.95 times as on 31 March 2021.
Meanwhile, the company's board recommended a dividend of Rs 3 per fully paid-up equity share for financial year ended 2022.
